Berlin, July 2019
I’ve been in love with Berlin for a couple of years now, and decided to ring in my 40th birthday there. The trip was a little bittersweet, since right before I departed I was informed that I was being laid off from my job of 18 years. I did what I could to shake that off (such as visiting many of Berlin’s fine drinking establishments), and thankfully I was joined by a good friend.
This photo was taken in Mitte, near Kastienallee. The car is a Ford Vaurus (yes, that’s not a typo). I loved the contrast of the lush green trees and the bright yellow BVG tram. Overall, one of my favorite photos I’ve ever taken with my (now retired) Nikon D3200. I decided to have this one printed and displayed in my home.
